We can’t hold the usual exhibition this year, so we are going to show you some tasks that Tanya’s students were given during lockdown and the results that they produced.

(There will be a new one each day through the first week of the festival.)

In the real world, art is about experimenting, making mistakes, learning and moving forward.

We hope that by showing you examples of ‘work in progress’, as well as accomplished pieces, you will be motivated to ‘have a go’ yourself.

Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, the ‘surgery’ that was to be held in the Old Bluecoats School on the weekend of 17th and 18th October has been cancelled.

The Art Exhibition in The Old Bluecoat School has been a popular feature of the Thatcham Festival since its inception 20 years ago.

From the beginning, it was run by Angela Bates under the banner of the Thatcham Art Experience.

Tanya Patey has been responsible for hanging the exhibition for most of that time.

Last year, Angela asked Tanya to take over the responsibility of the exhibition.

Tanya’s Art ‘n Craft Studio was set up to manage the exhibition, which it did successfully last year.
